George & Maria Koutures purchased Ambco from Clare & Marie Mason on December 18, 1985.  At this time Ambco was located in Irwindale, Calif.  A year later the Koutures's moved operations to Tustin, Calif., its present location.

Initital emphasis was to redesign the products, resulting in the Model 650A & 650AB, the Model 1000, the Model 1500 digital automatic audiometer.

The Model 2500 later replaced the Model 1500 as state of the art, automatic industrial audiometer.

The Model 1000+ was the first digital audiometer offered to the primary care industry with a printer.

Ambco was the one and only audiometer manufacturer to offer a five year warranty.

The majority of Ambco's business addressed the primary care medical needs as well as school testing and industrial automatic testing.

The Koutures's sold Ambco to Dennis & Nancy Daniels on October 6, 2006 and retired to enjoy their six grandchildren.
